At Monarch Center for Autism we take advantage of the strong attraction students with Autism Spectrum Disorders have to electronic media (Shane and Alpert, 2008). We leverage that attraction to provide rich learning opportunities. We believe appropriate technology should be an integral part of every student's educational program at Monarch School.
Among the technologies used at Monarch are hand-held mobile devices including the Apple iPad and iTouch. These accommodate a variety of Apps that enhance the speech, academic, occupational therapy, behavioral, and entertainment needs of students on the autism spectrum.
